What is Descriptive text?
Descriptive text is a form of writing that aims to describe in detail an object, place, person or situation. In other words, descriptive text invites readers into the visual world through detailed and clear descriptions.
The main purpose of descriptive text is to help readers form a clear and vivid picture in their minds about the object being described.

Structure Text Descriptive
1. Identificabon (Introduction /classification) answer the question about what Specific topic, person, idea, or Whing is being described or Is the topic being described or explained. explained and how.

2. Description (Characteristic features) answer the question about what features or characteristic the topic being described. are important to remember or understand about.

Language Features
1. Use of simple present tense
The simple present tense is used to describe facts or circumstances that are constant or recurring.

Example:
Coconut trees grow on the beach.

The wind blew gently in the garden.

2. Use of linking verbs
A connecting verb (relating verb) is a verb that connects the subject with the predicate. Linking verbs that are often used in descriptive text include:

is/am/are
has/has
look/looks/smell/smells/sound/sounds/taste/tastes

Example:
Roses are beautiful flowers.

Mount Bromo has a large crater.

3. Use of adjectives
Adjectives are words used to describe the nature or characteristics of an object.

Example:
Pink roses with soft and fragrant petals.

Mount Bromo is big and red.

Adjective
Adjectives are a type of word used to describe or explain the nature or condition of an object

OSASCOMP
Opinion (lovely, beautiful, etc.)
Size (big, small, etc.)
Quality (smooth, rough, etc.)
Age (young, old, etc.)
Shape (round, square, etc.)
Color (blue, black, etc.)
Origin (Indonesian, Japanese, etc.)
Material (plastic, wood, etc.)
Purpose (cooking, cleaning, etc.)

Sentense Structure
Subject: The subject is the person, place, thing, or concept that performs the action in the sentence. Usually, the subject comes before the verb.
Verb: A verb is a word that expresses an action or state.
Object: An object is a person, place, thing, or concept that receives action in a sentence. 

Adverb
Adverbs have the function of explaining the adverb or adverb itself.
Adverb of manner
Adverbs of manner tell us how something happens. 

Adverb of place
Adverb of place is one type of 'adverb' sentence element which has the function of explaining where an activity occurs or is carried out.

Adverb of Time
Adverbs of time tell us when something happens, as well as how long and how often.


Transitive & Intransitive
Transitive sentences require objects or objects. Meanwhile, intransitive sentences do not require an object.

Examples of Transitive Sentences
He read the novel. (The object is a novel)
I wash dirty dishes. (The object is a dirty plate)
Children draw beautiful pictures. (The object is a beautiful picture)

Example of Descriptive Text
Lamington National Park
Lamington National Park is a luscious tropical rainforest. It is located 110
kilometers south of Brisbane and is reached by following the Pacific Highway to Nerang and then by traveling through the Numinbah Valley.

This scenic roadway lies in the shadow of the Lamington National Park. The phenomenon of the rock formed into a natural arch and the cave through which a waterfall cascades is a short 1 kilometer walk below a dense rainforest canopy from the main picnic area.

Swimming is permitted in the rock pools. Night-time visitors to the cave will discover the unique feature of the glow worms. Picnic areas offer toilets, barbecues, shelter sheds, water and fire places, however, overnight camping is not permitted.
